About Me
Hi there! Iām Ashley, a current student pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Apparel Design and Production Management at Auburn University. Apparel design is my greatest passion, and I feel fortunate to be developing my skills in this program.
To gain a better understanding of why I have decided to pursue my passions, I would love to share a little bit about myself. I was born the youngest of three girls in New Milford, CT and moved to Denver, NC when I was eleven. As a result of having two older sisters, my childhood wardrobe consisted mainly of hand-me downs. While I loved the eventual opportunity to branch out and find my individual style, those clothes had been a connection to my older sisters and our childhood memories.
The older I grew, the more passionate I became about clothing. I valued the ability it gave me to become my own person, while simultaneously connecting me to the people and places I love. As a designer, I have carried this heart for clothing with me.
My style is practical, combining classic silhouettes with a playful spirit. I have always been a naturally optimistic person, and I want my designs to reflect that same sense of joy. I believe my designs should have a purpose beyond meeting functional or aesthetic needs; they should fulfill people emotionally. Whether it is a feeling of confidence, excitement, nostalgia, or comfort, I hope people find a way to connect with my designs.
